Suspended in an unknown environment, contemplating, curiously looking through the glass, a distorted reality, constantly re-establishing identity, a sense of existence.
Where am I…. who are you… who am I?
‘I can see you’ is a mixed media installation that challenges notions of identity and perception exploring connections between traditional glass art and the moving image.
It consists of two clear sandblasted vessels of different size, one 30cm height by 20cm diameter lip and the other 35cm height by 30cm diameter lip.
A video loop is projected continuously onto the surface of the vessels.
Created in July 2015, ‘I can see you’ was presented for the first time at the Scottish Glass Society Exhibition, Inside Out, 29th August 2015, Edinburgh where it was awarded the prize for the most original piece of art work for innovation and the use of mixed media.
